Bodajki Sakk Egyesület a Bodajkban functioning chess club, which focuses on promoting the game and providing competitive opportunities for both children and adults. The association regularly organizes local tournaments, such as the Bodajk‑kupa held on 22 June 2025 in the Művelődési Ház és Könyvtár, as part of the fifth round of the Zsigmond Károly memorial series. Events are organized together with the Bodajk Önkormányzata and Királysakk SE, and receive support from the mayor’s office. Competitions are conducted according to FIDE rapid rules, with 20‑minute thinking time per player, Swiss‑system pairings over six rounds, and tie‑breaks decided by head‑to‑head results, Buchholz, Berger and progressive scores. Participants are divided into four groups based on rating and age, with separate awards for boys and girls in the younger categories. Registration is free, no licence is required, and entries are sent to [email protected]. Through these activities the club aims to spread chess and give players a chance to test their skills.
